As
a youngster, Gretchen always wanted to be an artist. Her favorite
memories of childhood were when she was allowed to sit and draw,
paint or color in a coloring book. One might say that Gretchen has
been drawing all her life. Gretchen would always get in trouble
at school for drawing on school work, usually it was a horse or
a dog, sometimes a cat. Gretchen's medium of choice is pen and ink.
However, she also has worked in acrylic paint, pastel and photography.
Gretchen has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Arkansas
at Little Rock.
Gretchen was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and raise
in Benton, AR where she graduated from Benton High School. In 1984,
her parents enrolled her in private art lessons from well-known
Benton artist Dianne Roberts. She took lessons from Dianne for about
10 years.
Over the years Gretchen has had the pleasure of
exhibiting art at Blue Moon Gallery in Hot Springs, AR, Little Rock
Convention Cetner, Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, Dianne Roberts
Art Studio in Benton, AR and Benton Courier, in Benton, AR.
