Deborah,
an Indianapolis native, married a Southern boy back in 94
Life hasnt been the same! She and her husband,
John, enjoy working together. As lovers of the outdoors, they have
created their home retreat on an abandoned rock quarry, in Caddo
Valley. We are living our dream. Deborah spent her childhood
summers in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She relays her youth
spent there in a small book entitled Return to Limestone.
Ever trying to improve her skills she will be returning to the UP
before the studio tour for a photography workshop.
In addition to their love of travel, music, art and writing,
one of the Tacketts hobbies include the restoration of vintage
camper trailers. Grandson Braden enjoys providing tours to art studio
guests.
Deborah received her first camera, a Brownie, on her 10th birthday.
Her love of photography began. Her photos taken from her travels
to Europe have earned several awards. In addition to various framed
pieces, including petite photos, 8X10 matted photos
are ready to be framed. Note cards, coasters, trivets, uniquely
enhanced vintage locker doors, collages and cork framed subjects
are available for purchase. She is experimenting with hand tinted
black and white photos and would love to see your response.
Past years subject matter includes: Wyoming cattle drive,
New Mexico, Western Europe, architecture, doors, animal personalities,
vintage signs and 50s diners exhibiting her unique perspective.
This years additions will include waterfalls, Arkansas outdoors
and a glimpse of the Pennsylvania Amish. From honky-tonks to missions,
wild-West to West Indies, New Orleans to France, and Chicago to
LA (on old Route 66) special moments are captured in each frame.
Deborah hopes her photos invoke a feeling of presence and allow
the viewer to sense the differences and similarities of the cultures
that she has tried to preserve. I want to present something
different. We welcome you to come and visit with us.
Were excited about sharing our life with you. Follow
